Softball Recap: Aubrey Rogers Beats Estero for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Aubrey Rogers waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Estero Wildcats as they made off with a 13-7 victory. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Wildcats on April 1st, they had to take a 11-3 defeat.

Delaney McCroskery was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Sophia Truchan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Emma Bennett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Aubrey Rogers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Aubrey Rogers pushed their record up to 12-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Estero, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.

Aubrey Rogers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-1 win against Clewiston on the 29th. As for Estero, they have also already played their next matchup, a 26-10 victory against South Fort Myers on the 23rd.
