Volleyball Recap: Myers Park Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Caiah Lee and Barrett Lacouture + How To Watch

After flying high against West Mecklenburg last Tuesday, Myers Park came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Butler Bulldogs on Monday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-17 in the first set.

Myers Park started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-15.

Barrett Lacouture and Caiah Lee certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Lacouture had 13 assists and eight digs, while Lee had ten kills and four digs. Lee has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last eight times she's played. Anya Lee also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Leading Butler to victory were Valentina Simanic and Amaya Bailey. Simanic had eight digs and eight assists, while Bailey had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Bailey has posted since back in September.

Myers Park moved to 12-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Butler, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

Myers Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Hough on the 7th. As for Butler, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Mallard Creek on the 7th.
