Basketball Recap: North Sevier Find Success

In Thursday's Canine Competition, North Sevier came out on top. They escaped with a win on Thursday against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. The win almost wasn't to be: the Wolves were down 32-15 in the second quarter.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylee Bartholomew, who went 7 of 16 en route to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 34% of Gunnison Valley's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Autumn Anderson was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 boards.

The victory made it two in a row for North Sevier and bumps their season record up to 9-11. As for Gunnison Valley, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.

North Sevier will be playing in front of their home fans against North Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for North Sevier: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while North Summit has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. Gunnison Valley has already played their next contest (against Duchesne), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
