Jackson hasn't had much luck against Chillicothe recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Ironman/Ironladies are taking a road trip to face off against the Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m.
Jackson came up short against Hillsboro on Tuesday, falling 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-12, 25-16.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chillicothe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Washington 3-0 on Tuesday.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Chillicothe took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-6, 25-15.
Jackson better keep an eye on Natalie Dudley. She was instrumental in Chillicothe's win, getting seven digs and six aces. That's the most aces Dudley has posted since back in September of 2024. Bradyn Smith also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.
Chillicothe was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive contests.
Chillicothe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Jackson has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Chillicothe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Jackson might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Chillicothe when the teams last played back in September. Can the Ironman/Ironladies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
