Preview: Clinton Prairie Gophers vs. North Vermillion Falcons
The Clinton Prairie Gophers will head out on the road to face off against the North Vermillion Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Clinton Prairie was fully in charge, breezing past Covington 41-6 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.
North Vermillion fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They claimed a resounding 41-6 win over Attica on the road. North Vermillion pushed the score to 41-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Attica cut but never quite recovered from.
North Vermillion's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jerome White, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 60 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. White was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Cody Tryon, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Clinton Prairie to 6-4 and North Vermillion to 7-3.
