Soccer Game Preview: First Baptist School vs. Porter-Gaud

First Baptist School hasn't had much luck against Porter-Gaud recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The First Baptist School Hurricanes will face off against the Porter-Gaud Cyclones at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as First Baptist School comes in on three and Porter-Gaud on eight.

First Baptist School took a four-goal loss the last time they faced off against Ashley Hall, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. First Baptist School had just enough and edged out Ashley Hall 3-2. The Hurricanes wouldn't have won without Fynn Domrese, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Porter-Gaud kept a clean sheet against Palmetto Christian Academy on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Palmetto Christian Academy with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cyclones, who have now won eight games by three goals or more so far this season.

Porter-Gaud pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five contests. As for First Baptist School, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

First Baptist School might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Porter-Gaud when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can First Baptist School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
