Softball Game Preview: Le Grand Bulldogs vs. Mariposa County Grizzlies

The Le Grand Bulldogs will face off against the Mariposa County Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Le Grand is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Le Grand is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Bradshaw Christian 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 25, 2024.

Ava Avila was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaliyah Ceja, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Le Grand, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7.

Everything went Le Grand's way against Mariposa County in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Le Grand made off with a 9-3 victory.
