Bennett's loss ends four-game winning streak at home

If the Bennett Clippers were feeling good off their 89-64 takedown of the Queen Anne's County Lions on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bennett took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Decatur on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Several Clippers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zakai Smullen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Jace Hudson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Decatur to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davin Chandler, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trybe Wise, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Bennett's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. As for Decatur, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bennett will square off against Mardela at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Decatur, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
