Baseball Recap: Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles vs. Northwood Gladiators

Seneca Valley can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They put the hurt on the Northwood Gladiators with a sharp 9-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Seneca Valley.

Preston Porter and JJ Parrau made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Porter struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Parrau tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Porter has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. At the plate, Porter scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Parrau scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Seneca Valley got a massive performance out of Jay Wickson, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jacob Salebe, who went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

Seneca Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for Northwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Seneca Valley will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Walter Johnson at 3:45 p.m. Walter Johnson knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Seneca Valley likes a good challenge. Northwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
