Basketball Recap: Kolbie Pierce Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vail Mountain

On Friday, the Soroco Rams strolled past the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers with points to spare, taking the game 30-14. The Rams pushed the score to 26-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gore Rangers cut but never quite recovered from.

Soroco's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kolbie Pierce led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyvia Cox, who posted four points and five steals.

Soroco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Soroco is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points over those games. Vail Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
