Softball Recap: Wheeler Finds Playoff Glory Versus Pine Grove

Wheeler extended their postseason success on Saturday against Pine Grove. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 8-4. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Marli Kate Shockley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenzie Shaw was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Marley Garrett, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Wheeler hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Grove struck out eight times.

Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Pine Grove, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-15.

As of now, neither Wheeler nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
