Baseball Recap: Hughes Takes a Loss

Hughes had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it ten. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayne County Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 20-0 defeat two weeks ago.

As for Wayne County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Wayne County's part, Drew Bevis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Stooksberry, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Hughes nor Wayne County have any future games scheduled.
