Volleyball Recap: Aline Bhat Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Lincoln + How To Watch

New Albany hadn't done well against Lincoln recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 11th.

New Albany got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 26-28, 30-28.

New Albany's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aline Bhat, who had 30 digs and two aces. Bhat is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 21 games she's played dating back to last season. Maisy Mathers was another key player, getting eight digs and six aces.

They weren't the only good servers: New Albany was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in nine consecutive matches.

New Albany's record now sits at 7-10. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Coming up, New Albany will face off against Pickerington North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Westerville Central on the 2nd.
