Basketball Recap: Coral Park Wins Going Away Against Plantation

Coral Park saw some tournament action on Friday. They took down the Plantation Colonels 64-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Angel Lara was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Jeremias Jimenez, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Despite the loss, Plantation still got an impressive performance from Jabari Washington, who posted 25 points and seven rebounds. Washington has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sahmaj Alcime, who put up 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Coral Park's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Plantation, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coral Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-32 defeat against Lake Highland Prep on the 28th. As for Plantation, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-50 victory against North Miami Beach on the 28th.
