Basketball Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Columbia Wildcats

The Purvis Tornadoes will square off against the Columbia Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Purvis is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Last Thursday, Purvis came up short against the Aggies and fell 54-45. Purvis has struggled against the Aggies recently, as their match on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The losing side was boosted by Jacoby Robinson, who scored 12 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Gipson, who scored four points along with five rebounds.

Columbia can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bay and snuck past 26-23.

Purvis' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Columbia, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13.

Purvis strolled past the Wildcats in their previous meeting last Friday by a score of 66-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Purvis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
