Softball Recap: Abbeville Takes a Loss

If Abbeville was riding high fresh off their 22-10 takedown of Gueydan on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Abbeville Wildcats fell just short of the Vermilion Catholic Eagles by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Abbeville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Vermilion Catholic, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Abbeville Wildcats face off against Jeanerette Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vermilion Catholic has already played their next contest (against Westminster Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
