Douglas County was handed a eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Highlands Ranch Falcons 7-6. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Douglas County let Gunnar Tinari and Max VanDewalker run wild. Tinari went 1-for-3 with one home run, while VanDewalker got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maicah Cabral, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Douglas County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Douglas County's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8. As for Highlands Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Coincidentally, Douglas County and Highlands Ranch will both be playing Castle View the next time they take the field. The Huskies will host the Sabercats at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
