Basketball Recap: Greenbrier Christian Academy Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

It's playoff time, and Greenbrier Christian Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Timberlake Christian Tornadoes on Tuesday, sneaking past 30-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gators have posted since January 17th.

Katelyn Balka was her usual excellent self, putting up eight points along with ten boards and eight steals. Greenbrier Christian Academy is 11-1 when Balka posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Stevenson, who posted four points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Greenbrier Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points over those games. Timberlake Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Greenbrier Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-25 loss against New Covenant on the 26th. Timberlake Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
