Basketball Game Preview: Lithia Springs Lions vs. New Manchester Jaguar

The Lithia Springs Lions will venture away from home to take on the New Manchester Jaguar at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lithia Springs took on Alexander on Thursday. Lithia Springs came out on top against Alexander by a score of 57-46. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Cougars are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, New Manchester came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over the Spartans.

New Manchester's win came from a few key players Lithia Springs will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Delancy Alexander, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Hines, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards.

New Manchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

With the victory, Lithia Springs broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9. As for New Manchester, their record now sits at 12-3.

Lithia Springs came up short against New Manchester in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 59-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hines, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
