Baseball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter and Bloomington pushed the score to 15-5 the last time they played Bloomington, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Lions fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost four in a row.

Carter got a good showing from Ryan Vasquez, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero earned runs gave Vasquez a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Carter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Acevedo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Bloomington, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 8-12 record.

While Carter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
