Basketball Recap: Rocky River Skates Past West Iredell with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rocky River). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the West Iredell Warriors 71-29. With that win, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 51.4 points per game.

Rocky River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristin Jarrett, who went 10 for 14 on her way to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Jarrett a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camille Montgomery, who went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points.

The win (which was Rocky River's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for West Iredell, their defeat was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Rocky River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-29 victory against Statesville on the 28th. As for West Iredell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-8 loss against Mooresville on the 28th.
