Basketball Game Preview: Harwood Highlanders vs. Lake Region Rangers

The Harwood Highlanders are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake Region Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harwood has three straight wins, Lake Region has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Harwood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Lamoille, who was ranked 13th at the time (Harwood was ranked tenth). Harwood walked away with a 59-51 victory over Lamoille on Friday.

Meanwhile, Lake Region didn't have quite enough to beat Lyndon Institute on Friday and fell 43-41.

Harwood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Lake Region, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything came up roses for Harwood against Lake Region in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-26 victory. Does Harwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lake Region turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
