Basketball Recap: Oakwood Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

After losing to Skyline the last time they met, Oakwood Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Oakwood Academy Mustangs came out on top against the Skyline Vikings by a score of 63-55 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Oakwood Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Germono, who went 10 of 19 en route to 24 points and three steals. The game was Germono's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jadon Williams, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Oakwood Academy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points per game. As for Skyline, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.

Oakwood Academy will welcome Pisgah at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in Oakwood Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 contests. Skyline and North Sand Mountain will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
