Softball Recap: Monday's Loss Ends Chattanooga Christian's Winning Streak

After a string of six wins, Chattanooga Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers by a score of 5-4. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buccaneers earlier this season, when they won 10-5.

Nyla Halfacre made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 13-5. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattanooga Christian will welcome Girls Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 3.9, the Bruisers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Boyd-Buchanan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Walker Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
