Basketball Recap: Mckean's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

McKean had lost six straight headed into Wednesday's match, but Jasmine Sessoms didn't let it get to seven. The McKean Highlanders simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Newark Yellowjackets 51-20 thanks in part to Sessoms, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of McKean's points.

Adnianah Smack was another key player, putting up no points and 11 steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 3.4 steals per game.

McKean's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Newark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKean will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Andrew's at 3:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Newark, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conrad Science at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
