Fans got a thrill when Brett Gilchrist and Cole Brunett connected against Crawford. The connection was good for 91 yards, the longest such play in 2A-1 Region III District 12 this season.
Life Red Oak scaled the state rankings by moving to 779 from 915 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs were able to make move up by beating Garland Christian Academy 70-34.
Whitney's dynamic duo of Gilchrist and Brunett proved to be unstoppable against the Pirates, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gilchrist threw for 414 yards and 5 touchdowns and Brunett had 147 yards receiving. Kelton Mansfield helped Whitney's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 103 yards.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Gilchrist and Brunett proved tough for Crawford to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Gilchrist put up the best numbers in passing as Whitney lost to the Pirates.
KAINE BLAKE was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 313 yards on 30 carries as Life Red Oak fell to Crawford. Teammate Ezra Zepeda added to the ground attack by rushing for 188 yards.
BLAKE was a beast in the backfield as Mike Underwood's team defeated the Swordsmen.
He went 18-31 with 1 interceptions.
Brunett was the best receiver in 2A-1 Region III District 12 this week as the Wildcats lost to the Pirates.
The leading receiver in the league this season is NICK FORDE. The Life Red Oak star has 10 catches for 271 yards.
Maypearl took down Itasca 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tristen Spradling ran for 143 yards in the win.
