The Libertyville Wildcats will face off against the New Trier Trevians at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Libertyville beats New Trier with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Lake Forest on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Scouts recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Chase Lockwood was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cole Lockwood was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Schambow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Libertyville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Forest only posted a batting average of .185.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Trier, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Deerfield 12-2 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trevians considering their one-run performance the match before.
Greg Campitelli tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Trey Meyers was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Zach Perchik was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
New Trier's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Libertyville, their victory bumped their record up to 26-3.
Both Libertyville and New Trier just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like New Trier struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
