Soccer Recap: Bunker Hill Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bunker Hill can now relate to. They came up short against the Ashe County Huskies on Thursday, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Bunker Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Ashe County are ranked 81st).

Bunker Hill has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season. As for Ashe County, the win (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Bunker Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashe County, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Hibriten on the 11th.
