Football Recap: St. Augustine Prep Starts Season with Victory on the Road

St. Augustine Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the McKinley Bulldogs by a score of 24-14. The Hermits pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Roman Coney was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 167 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 167 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

McKinley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, St. Augustine Prep will venture away from home to take on Paul VI at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McKinley, they will welcome Cleveland Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
