Softball Recap: Babcock Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Babcock unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Oasis Sharks by a score of 3-2.

Brooklyn Mills spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Emmie Barritt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Babcock's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Oasis, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Babcock will face off against South Fort Myers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Oasis, they will welcome Port Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
