Softball Recap: Blanchester Comes Up Short

If Blanchester was riding high fresh off their 20-10 takedown of McClain on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Norwood Indians by a score of 11-10 on Saturday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jocelyn Lansing made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Reece Ledford was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Blanchester dropped their record down to 7-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Norwood, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-5.

While Blanchester had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
