Baseball Recap: Shoals Christian Wins Going Away Against Phillips

Shoals Christian won the last time they faced Phillips and things went their way on Monday too. The Flame put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 19-3 victory. The Flame might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Malachi Sewell made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Rylan Pettus was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Shoals Christian is undefeated when Pettus posts two or more runs, but 1-11 otherwise. Mac Powell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
