Despite the defeat, Kansas City East Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Brayisha Avery scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Avery has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Kansas City East Christian Academy dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Lighthouse Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Lighthouse Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Providence Academy at 6:00 p.m. Providence Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Lighthouse Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
