Football Game Preview: Johnson Knights vs. Dawson County Tigers

The Johnson Knights will challenge the Dawson County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Johnson hasn't scored more than 12 points for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Johnson's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Chestatee on Friday. They took a blow against the War Eagles, falling 62-0. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the War Eagles are ranked 209th).

Meanwhile, Dawson County came up short against Greater Atlanta Christian on Friday and fell 21-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost six in a row.

Johnson will have to contain Cody Mcbrayer as he made an impact in Dawson County's last game. He rushed for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Johnson's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dawson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Johnson was taken down by Dawson County 71-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mcbrayer, who rushed for 96 yards and one score on only six carries.
