Basketball Recap: Veritas Collegiate Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Veritas Collegiate Academy was feeling good fresh off their 87-47 takedown of Life Christian Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Hope Academy National Tigers on Saturday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-66 back in December of 2024.

New Hope Academy National got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Haki Muhammed II out in front who posted 24 points. The match was Muhammed II's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was CJ Dimbeng, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds.

With the loss, Veritas Collegiate Academy broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-9. As for New Hope Academy National, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

Veritas Collegiate Academy has already played their next contest (against The Carmel School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the New Hope Academy National Tigers face off against the Fairfax Christian Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairfax Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
