Baseball Game Preview: Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels vs. Millington Central Trojans

Tipton-Rosemark Academy has won three straight games at home, while Millington Central has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Rebels will host the Trojans at 2:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Tipton-Rosemark Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Millington Central, taking the game 9-4. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Connor Vowell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Wesley Pinner was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Massey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Millington Central is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-22 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, their win bumped their record up to 17-12.
