Basketball Recap: Roosevelt's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Roosevelt had lost five straight headed into Friday's matchup, but Landyn McCann didn't let it get to six. The Roosevelt Roughriders blew past the Wellington Eagles 73-47 on Friday thanks in part to McCann, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The win got Roosevelt back to even at 8-8. As for Wellington, they are on a 35-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Northridge the next time they take the court. Roosevelt will head out to face Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wellington will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
