League recap: Hempfield rises in state rank

Lancaster-Lebanon 1 recap September 4, 2013

Hempfield moved up to 138 from 183 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lancaster-Lebanon 1. The Black Knights climbed the ranks as a result of beating Lampeter-Strasburg 40-7.

Penn Manor took down Solanco 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Matt Timochenko and Shane Dantzler gave Wilson a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Timochenko threw for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Dantzler ran for 81 yards. Teammate John Raifsnider added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.

Timochenko and Dantzler gave the Bulldogs a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Davis Carr was a passing and rushing force as Manheim Township lost to Central Dauphin. He completed 10 passes for 111 yards and also ran for 5 yards. Carr's favorite target this week was Matt Salade, who caught 2 passes for 37 yards.

Dantzler was the most successful running back in the league this week.

Speller Randolph was the best wideout in the league this week as Lancaster Catholic fell to Dallastown. Randolph tallied 2 receptions for 43 yards.

Timochenko put up the best numbers through the air as Wilson defeated Governor Mifflin.

The Blue Streaks' 5-foot-10 quarterback Carr is the league leader in passing yards this season with 111. The leading receiver in the league this season is Randolph. The Lancaster Catholic star has 2 catches for 43 yards.

Hempfield made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,381 from 4,434. The improvement came about via a 40-7 victory over the Pioneers last week.
