While University School of Jackson's victory against Trinity Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bruins skirted past the Lions 23-21. That's more bragging rights for the Bruins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jackson Pugh was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 164 yards and one score, and also picked up 37 receiving yards and one TD. Pugh is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 141 every time he's taken the field this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: University School of Jackson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Christian Academy lost on Friday, don't look at Owen Atwood. Despite the final result, he rushed for 151 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 137 yards and a pair of TDs. Atwood also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass.

University School of Jackson's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Trinity Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University School of Jackson will head out to square off against Fayette Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against West Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
