Football Recap: Bay Comes Up Short

Bay extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 28-7 to the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 34-14 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cameron Garcia threw for 58 yards on three of six attempts. Landen Evans was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Kilanta Burt rushed for 92 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

As for Presbyterian Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Presbyterian Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Smith Stringer led the charge by throwing for 272 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt. What's more, Stringer racked up 137.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. A healthy portion of Stringer's aerial production (185 yards to be exact) went to Jet Henderson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Bay wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 48-6 defeat against Hancock on the 3rd. As for Presbyterian Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 36-0 win against St. Patrick on the 3rd.
