Baseball Recap: Briggs Bruins vs. Central Crossing Comets

Briggs extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 15-5 in the process. They came up short against the Central Crossing Comets, falling 20-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bruins haven't been shut out since back in April.

As for Central Crossing, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-20. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Central Crossing's part, Preston Carter made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carter also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Central Crossing is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-19 otherwise. Carter was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Central Crossing got a massive performance out of Robert Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briggs will face off against Westland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Central Crossing, they will square off against Reynoldsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comets are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
