Football Recap: Tomball Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake + How To Watch

Tomball won the last time they faced Cinco Ranch and things went their way on Friday too. Tomball came out on top against Cinco Ranch by a score of 24-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Tomball's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Cinco Ranch is ranked 215th).

Tomball found their leader in sophomore Ian Thomas, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Tomball was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Although Cinco Ranch took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Chevez and Marcus Gadlin.

Tomball's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Cinco Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Tomball has already played their next matchup, a 35-34 loss against Klein Collins on the 12th. As for Cinco Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-3 victory against Seven Lakes on the 12th.
