Softball Recap: Pickerington Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Logan on Thursday, Pickerington Central came back down to earth. The Tigers lost 14-7 to the Marysville Monarchs on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Natalya Lim was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Sofie Barnett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Pickerington Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Marysville, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-4-1 record this season.

Pickerington Central will venture away from home to face off against Canal Winchester at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marysville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olentangy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
