Basketball Recap: Trey Nevad Key Part of a Team Effort in Cougars Win

Merritt Island Christian won the last time they faced Orlando Science and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Merritt Island Christian Cougars walked away with a 50-41 win over the Orlando Science Orcas. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Merritt Island Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Nevad, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Nevad is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games he's played. Connor Angstadt was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Merritt Island Christian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Orlando Science, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Merritt Island Christian will take on Real Life Christian Academy in a tournament on Friday. As for Orlando Science, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-14 victory against Central Florida Leadership on the 15th.
