Basketball Recap: Legacy Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Legacy Academy can now relate to. They fell to the Tucumcari Rattlers 50-44.

Tucumcari's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caylee Benavidez, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. Benavidez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was July Lafferty, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

Legacy Academy's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Tucumcari, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Legacy Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tucumcari, they have already played their next match, a 68-46 defeat against Tatum on the 13th.
