Softball Recap: J.F. Webb Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask J.F. Webb). They blew past the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans 28-7 on Wednesday. Considering the Warriors have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Simone Ovando was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Keigley, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Ovando wasn't the only one making solid contact: J.F. Webb kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

J.F. Webb is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, J.F. Webb will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Durham School of the Arts at 5:00 p.m. The Warriors are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, they are taking a road trip to square off against Granville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
