Softball Recap: Athens Warriors vs. Auburn Trojans
Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Auburn Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Athens of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
Athens saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslie Buckmaster, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base.
On Auburn's side, Meena Taylor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.
