Softball Recap: Ithaca Comes Up Short

Union Springs hit Ithaca with a eight-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bear Cubs lost 18-1 to the Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 two weeks ago.

Ithaca's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Union Springs, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Ithaca will welcome Chenango Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Union Springs, they will head out on the road to challenge Newfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
