Football Game Preview: Voorhees Vikings vs. North Plainfield Canucks

Voorhees is 7-2 against North Plainfield since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will host the Canucks at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Voorhees and Delaware Valley meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Vikings walked away with a 21-12 victory over the Terriers.

Matteo Tramutola produced another solid performance rushing for 162 yards and two scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards.

Voorhees didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rylan Benitez and Logan Direny.

Meanwhile, North Plainfield got themselves on the board against New Brunswick on Friday, but New Brunswick never followed suit. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Zebra. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Canucks' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Voorhees' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games. As for North Plainfield, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2.

Voorhees took their win against North Plainfield in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 47-22 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Canucks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
