Basketball Recap: Mitchell Tigers vs. Kimball Longhorns
The Mitchell Tigers can finally bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down Kimball 32-18. The win was just what Mitchell needed coming off of a 62-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Mitchell found their leader in underclassman Addy Bowlin, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowlin has scored all season.
Mitchell's victory bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Kimball, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Mitchell will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Gering and the Tigers are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Kimball, they and the Hornets will face off on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pine Bluffs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Longhorns in their respective states (the Hornets are ranked 31st in Wyoming, while the Longhorns are ranked 230th in Nebraska).
